Coherence over balance.
A life aligned is stronger than a life evenly split.
I’d rather move in one clear direction
than perfectly juggle ten.
Too much we pursue a life of balance when we need coherency with our values. Pick coherency and rid yourself of other’s opinions and what people tell you, you need.
Generative Obsession
Obsession can be destructive —
media, exes, substances, distractions.
But generative obsession?
That’s leaning into something useful.
Creating. Building. Learning. Exploring.
Don’t cling to obsessions.
But when they arise — feel them fully.
Lean in.
Some people are numb.
I would rather be in pain and feel alive
than drift into resistance and being numb.
Intensity vs. Complication
Here’s something that struck me:
The world is not too intense — it’s too complicated.
I can deal with intensity.
Hard workouts. Deep conversations. Big risks.
But complication? Endless options. Abstract choices. Invisible trade-offs. Social noise. That’s what scrambles the mind.
Maybe the goal isn’t reducing intensity.
Maybe it’s reducing unnecessary complication.
Formative Community > Content Community
Why not gather in a formative community instead of just a content community?
A content community consumes together.
A formative community builds together.
Wheat Is Wheat
“If I am worth something later then I am worth something now, because wheat is wheat even if people think it is grass in the beginning.” – often attributed to Vincent van Gogh
Value doesn’t suddenly appear in the future.
It matures. It reveals.
But it was always there.
A person isn’t a fixed identity.
A person is a becoming.
Choice and Trade-Off
There is no “right” life.
No maximum.
No universally good option.
There is only choice and trade-off.
And strangely, that’s freeing.
I have no regrets —
but of course I would choose to do everything differently.
Both are true.
It’s beautiful and obvious at the same time.
